External Single Revolving – Rope Halyard
The Continental Series from Concord American Flagpole pairs a heavy-duty commercial aluminum flagpole with the highest quality hardware in the industry, built to meet strict architectural standards. This 40 ft model has an 8" butt diameter and .188" wall, is rated for winds up to 123 mph with a nylon flag, and flies an 8 ft x 12 ft flag on a revolving truck that turns with the wind to reduce wrapping. This height is well proportioned for corporate campuses, shopping centers, hotels and municipal buildings.

Choosing the Right 40 ft Model
Concord American offers 6 Continental Series models at 40 ft. They differ in base (butt) diameter, wall thickness and number of sections. A larger base and thicker wall give a higher wind rating:
- ESR40D81 (this model): 8" butt, .188" wall, one piece, 123 mph with flag, about 322 lb
- ESR40C71: 7" butt, .156" wall, one piece, 87 mph with flag, about 269 lb
- ESR40C72: 7" butt, .156" wall, 2 sections, 87 mph with flag, about 274 lb
- ESR40C81: 8" butt, .156" wall, one piece, 107 mph with flag, about 306 lb
- ESR40C82: 8" butt, .156" wall, 2 sections, 107 mph with flag, about 310 lb
- ESR40D82: 8" butt, .188" wall, 2 sections, 122 mph with flag, about 328 lb
Multi-section poles ship in shorter pieces, which makes delivery easier to residential and limited-access sites. For open areas and coastal or high-wind locations, choose the higher wind rating.
