Internal Cam Cleat – Rope Halyard
The Monarch Series from Concord American Flagpole is a commercial-grade internal halyard flagpole for low to moderate wind areas. The rope halyard is concealed inside the pole and secured on a cam cleat behind a precision-cut, flush-mount hinged door with a compression lock, so the flag cannot be lowered or stolen without a key and the halyard never slaps against the pole. This 40 ft model has an 8" butt diameter and .156" wall, is rated for winds up to 94 mph with a nylon flag, and flies an 8 ft x 12 ft flag. This height is well proportioned for corporate campuses, shopping centers, hotels and municipal buildings.

Choosing the Right 40 ft Model
Concord American offers 6 Monarch Series models at 40 ft. They differ in base (butt) diameter, wall thickness and number of sections. A larger base and thicker wall give a higher wind rating:
- ICC40C82 (this model): 8" butt, .156" wall, 2 sections, 94 mph with flag, about 327 lb
- ICC40C71: 7" butt, .156" wall, one piece, 75 mph with flag, about 288 lb
- ICC40C72: 7" butt, .156" wall, 2 sections, 75 mph with flag, about 293 lb
- ICC40C81: 8" butt, .156" wall, one piece, 94 mph with flag, about 318 lb
- ICC40D81: 8" butt, .188" wall, one piece, 107 mph with flag, about 352 lb
- ICC40D82: 8" butt, .188" wall, 2 sections, 107 mph with flag, about 362 lb
Multi-section poles ship in shorter pieces, which makes delivery easier to residential and limited-access sites. For open areas and coastal or high-wind locations, choose the higher wind rating.

Frequently Asked Questions
What size flag does this pole fly?
The recommended flag size for the ICC40C82 is 8' x 12'.
How is it installed?
The pole sets 4 ft into a concrete foundation using the included galvanized steel ground sleeve, for a total length of 44 ft. A shoe base for surface mounting is available as an option.
How does it ship?
The ICC40C82 ships by truck freight in 2 sections, with an approximate shipping weight of 327 lb. A $250 freight deposit is charged at checkout and applied to the actual freight cost.
Why choose an internal halyard?
The halyard is hidden inside the pole and locked behind the access door, which prevents flag theft and vandalism, keeps the rope out of the weather and stops the halyard from slapping against the pole in the wind.
Is there a warranty?
Concord American backs its aluminum flagpole shafts with a lifetime flagpole shaft warranty, subject to Concord American's warranty terms.
Do you install flagpoles?
Yes. Ameritex Flag & Flagpole installs flagpoles in San Antonio and the Texas Hill Country and across Texas. Call 877-598-3524 for an installation quote.
