Every flag we sell, install or repair carries a little of our story with it.
Ameritex Flag & Flagpole was started by an Air Force retiree who gave 22 years to military service. When the uniform came off, the mission didn't really end. It just changed shape. Today our job is helping families, businesses and organizations across San Antonio fly the American flag the way it deserves to be flown. We call it Helping Freedom Fly.
Why a Veteran-Owned Flag Company Matters
To a lot of people, a flag is a decoration. To a veteran, it's the thing you saluted every morning, the thing that covered friends who didn't come home, and the thing you were handed, folded, at a family funeral. That's why we care about the details most people never notice: a flag that's faded to pink, a halyard slapping against the pole, a pole that's leaning or peeling.
We're a service-disabled veteran-owned business, and we're proud to call Military City USA home.
Getting Your Flag Ready for Veterans Day
Veterans Day is Wednesday, November 11. If you plan to fly the flag (and we hope you do), take five minutes this week to check it:
- Color: Are the reds still red and the blue still deep? Texas sun fades a flag fast.
- Edges: Look at the fly end, the edge farthest from the pole. Fraying starts there.
- Hardware: Make sure snaps, clips and the halyard are secure and not worn through.
- Lighting: If the flag flies overnight, it should be lit.
- The pole: Look for leaning, rust or peeling paint.
If anything fails the check, we can help with a new reinforced American flag, flag repair, flagpole service, or a brand new pole.
